Side Airport Transfer: Your Questions, Our Answers
Meeting point, child seats, late flights, paying on arrival and getting as close as a car can to Side’s pedestrian old town — everything guests want to know before they book.
Booking
Which details should I send to book a Side taxi transfer?
Four things: your flight number, when it lands (date and time), where you are staying (hotel name or full address) and the number of passengers, children included. WhatsApp and a phone call to +90 539 826 30 65 are quickest; e-mail ([email protected]) and the form on this site work too. The office replies with one amount for the entire vehicle; when you agree, we confirm the booking in writing. There is no online deposit, and we never ask for card details. When should we book for a summer stay in Side?
Once your flight times are certain — from June to September, the earlier the better. In high season the resorts between Gündoğdu and Titreyengöl are full, and on the busiest arrival days the larger vans and minibuses are reserved first. A last-minute request is still worth sending: plans change all the time, other guests cancel, and the office will quickly tell you what is available for your landing. What does the booking confirmation contain?
Everything the driver works from: when and where you are collected, your flight, where you are going, how many of you there are and in which vehicle class, any child seats with their price, the agreed total and the cancellation terms — plus a number to call on the day. Check it as soon as it arrives. A misspelt hotel name — quite a few resorts on this coast have very similar names — is easy to fix a week before you travel and much harder in the arrivals hall. Our flight or plans have changed — can the booking be amended?
Yes, and the sooner you tell us, the easier it is. Use the same channel as for the booking and send the new details: another flight, a different landing time, an extra traveller or a new hotel on the coast. Most changes are quick to arrange, but a larger party may need a bigger vehicle, and that changes the price. Cancellations follow the terms printed in your confirmation. Until you receive an updated confirmation from us in writing, treat the change as not yet made. How is the hotel pick-up time worked out for our departure?
We work it out from your flight, not from a fixed timetable. Send the flight number and departure time and the office suggests a pick-up time that covers the drive — around an hour from most hotels on this coast, a little more from Manavgat town — plus enough spare time for check-in and the security queue. Booking the return together with the arrival is simplest. On the day, the driver waits at the hotel entrance; if you are staying inside the pedestrian old town of Side, we agree a meeting point at its edge beforehand.
Payment
How is the transfer paid, and can the price go up on the day?
The usual way is cash to the driver once you have arrived at your accommodation; if you prefer another method, tell us when the quote reaches you and we will settle it beforehand. The amount is for the vehicle, however many seats are used, and it already covers airport parking, road fees and any waiting for your flight. What you pay is the figure in your written confirmation — a landing in the middle of the night, the luggage you declared or a delayed plane add nothing to it.
Arrival
At Antalya Airport, how will I recognise my driver?
Look for your own name. With passport control behind you and your suitcases collected, go into the arrivals hall and head to Welcome desk No:36 Hana Travel; the driver waits there with your name written on a board and then walks with you to the vehicle. You do not need to look for a car park or a numbered bay. Should you not see the board, call or message the number given in your confirmation and the office will put you in touch with the driver straight away. What happens if our plane lands late — or early?
The pick-up moves with it. The office follows your flight number, so the driver’s arrival is matched to the real landing time, whether the plane is held up for hours or touches down ahead of schedule. The extra waiting is not charged, and there is no need to phone us before you board. A short message once you are through baggage reclaim is welcome but not required; by then the driver is already heading for the meeting point. Our flight lands at 2 a.m. — will someone still meet us?
Yes. Hana Travel drives at any hour and on every day of the year; night landings are routine for us. Collecting you at night costs exactly what it would at noon. The highway east is quiet after dark, so the hour to Side often passes a little faster. Book it in the usual way and let your hotel know you will arrive in the small hours, so that somebody at reception is expecting you.
Vehicles
There are a lot of us — which vehicle will you send?
That depends on heads and suitcases together. A saloon car takes up to three passengers; the Mercedes Vito and Vito VIP seat up to six. Larger families or groups travel in a Mercedes Sprinter with 13 or 16 seats, and for more people still there is a midibus (25 seats) or a coach (45 seats). Since you pay per vehicle, tell us precisely how many adults, children and cases are coming, and we will suggest the class where everyone and everything fits comfortably, without paying for empty seats. Is the transfer shared with guests of other hotels?
Never. The vehicle carries only you and your own group, and from the airport it goes straight to your address. That is the real difference from the package-holiday coach, which on this coast may call at a long line of resorts between Çolaklı and Titreyengöl before it reaches yours. Need a quick stop on the way, say for water or a pharmacy? Ask for it in your booking message.
Luggage & children
Do you have car seats for babies and young children?
Yes, for every age and on request: an infant carrier, a child seat or a booster. Each seat is charged on top of the transfer price; you will see the amount in your written confirmation. If we know how old each child is at the time of booking, the seats are fitted before you even reach the car. Even on a flat road of about an hour, a small child is far safer in a proper seat than on an adult’s lap.Can we bring a pushchair, golf bags or other bulky luggage?
Certainly — just tell us beforehand. A folded pushchair is no problem in any vehicle. Golf bags, bicycles, diving equipment or a wheelchair take more room and decide which vehicle we send, so list them with your flight details. The items themselves cost nothing; if a larger vehicle is needed, its price applies. What we want to avoid is finding out at the kerb that the boot is too small for a family’s luggage.
Side coast
Which Side coast stop is nearest the airport, and which is farthest?
Roughly an hour to almost anywhere, because the ten stops sit close together. Çolaklı and Kumköy are the nearest at 60 km, about 55 minutes. Titreyengöl is 62 km and around 57 minutes away, while Evrenseki and Sorgun, at 62 and 63 km, both take close to 58 minutes. Side itself and Gündoğdu are 65 km, a full hour on the road. Manavgat town, inland on its river, is 72 km and about 65 minutes; across the river mouth, Kızılağaç (78 km, about 70 minutes) and Kızılot (80 km, about 72 minutes) are the farthest. These figures assume normal traffic, and every stop has its own page listing the hotels we drive to.What kind of road takes us from the airport to Side?
A wide, flat main highway, the D400, heading east the whole way. You pass the turn-offs for Belek, cross the Köprüçay river and continue through farmland, greenhouses and pine woods until the road enters Manavgat district. There are no mountain passes and hardly any bends, so the ride is easy for children and for anyone who feels unwell in cars. On summer weekends, when many flights arrive at once, traffic near the airport can be slower; the driver allows for that, and it does not change your price. Our hotel is inside Side old town — can the car take us to the door?
Usually not to the door itself. The old town on the peninsula is a pedestrian area, so vehicles stop at its edge and the last stretch is on foot. The driver parks as close as is allowed and helps you with the bags on the walk in. Hotels on the approach road and just outside the old town are reached directly. Give us the exact name of your accommodation or send a location pin, and we will explain beforehand how arrival works for your address. My booking says "Manavgat" — does that mean the town or the beach?
Often the beach. Manavgat is also the name of the district that covers this whole coast, so hotels in Side, Sorgun, Titreyengöl, Kumköy or Çolaklı frequently give "Manavgat" in their postal address. The town of Manavgat is a different place: a busy market town a few kilometres inland on the river, 72 km from the airport. The drive and the price can differ between the two, so please copy the hotel name from your voucher letter for letter, and we will place it on the map before anything is confirmed.Where does the car stop at a large all-inclusive resort?
At the main entrance in front of reception, wherever the hotel allows vehicles in. Many of the big resorts in Çolaklı, Evrenseki, Gündoğdu and Titreyengöl have a guarded barrier at the gate, and security normally lets the car continue to the lobby. If a resort uses a fixed drop-off point for outside vehicles, you get out there, with reception only a few steps away. The driver takes the cases out of the boot for you.Can you take us from our hotel to Manavgat waterfall, the market or the old town?
Yes. Rides along the coast are booked just like an airport transfer: tell us where to collect you, where you want to go, the date and time and how many of you there are, and we send one written price for the vehicle. Typical trips are from a hotel near Side to the waterfall or to Manavgat on market day, an evening in the old town from Çolaklı or Sorgun, or a move to another hotel halfway through the holiday. If you also need the way back, say so when booking and we will agree the return time in advance. Is there someone at your office who speaks our language?
You can write to us or call in Dutch, English, French, German, Russian or Turkish. Our drivers speak simple English, enough for the ride itself. Anything the driver should know in advance — a passenger who needs help walking, a guesthouse in the old town that is hard to find, a pick-up at a side entrance — tell the office, and we will brief the driver before the trip.Who actually operates the transfer?
Hana Grup Turizm, trading as Hana Travel — a licensed company, not an individual driver. TÜRSAB, the body that registers Turkish travel agencies, lists us as A-4899, and the Ministry of Transport has granted us passenger transport licence D2 no. 07.1390. The company appears in the register of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry as 53151 and is member 4182 of ENAT, the European Network for Accessible Tourism. Our vehicles belong to the company and carry passenger insurance; the drivers are our own staff.
